Message from the Embassy
On May 8, 2017, Koreans went to the polls and elected a new president, Moon Jae-in of the Democratic Party of Korea. President Moon took office on May 10 and will make his first official visit to the United States this week. President Moon will speak with President Trump about pressing issues of regional security and the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement’s (KORUS FTA) five years of success. The Embassy staff look forward to welcoming President Moon to Washington, D.C. on his first state visit.
